Cosmetic Dental Treatment (Take-Home Teeth Whitening, Crown and Bridge, Porcelain Veneers)

At Barkly Street Dental, we offer a range of cosmetic dental treatments to help you achieve the smile you desire. These treatments include:

Bridges and Crowns

Bridges and crowns are prosthetics that are fixed to your existing teeth of implants by your dentist. A crown is used to ‘cap’ a damaged tooth or to conceal an implant. A bridge is usually used to cover a gap where you may be missing one or more teeth.

Bridges and crowns can improve your smile. Where there is a gap, they can also prevent the remaining teeth from moving, which prevents a bad bite.

Crowns and Bridges can last a lifetime, although they can occasionally come loose. You can reduce the likelihood of this by maintaining good oral hygiene.

Take-Home Teeth Whitening

Tea, coffee, alcohol, smoking and tooth decay can all cause tooth discolouration. If you’re looking to brighten your

smile, our take-home teeth whitening treatments may be a suitable solution for you. After a consultation to discuss your desired results, the dentist will give you a specially made tray and a whitening gel which can be used within the comfort of your own home.

The gel is inserted into the tray, which is usually worn overnight and with repeated and regular use, you should start to see results within a number of weeks.

Porcelain Veneers

A veneer is a layer of porcelain that sits over the surface of the tooth to improve the shape, colour and position of your tooth. A veneer can cover one tooth or all of your teeth and can be natural looking to dramatically improve the appearance of your smile.

A veneer will usually take a couple of visits to your dentist, as the first visit is to prepare the tooth and match the colour before it is fitted during the second appointment.
